Suggestions to enhance your experience
  • Go to Trooditissa Monastery, nestled in a cedar valley 1,500 meters above sea level, following a legend it was founded in the 8th-century. A young man, escaping Constantinople, brought with him an icon of the Virgin Mary, said to have been created by the Apostle Luke himself, and established the monastery after being guided by a divine vision. The monastery's history is marked by reconstruction efforts following fires, with the main church rebuilt in 1731. The church houses the revered icon of the Virgin Mary of Troodos, believed to have miraculous powers, alongside other historic relics and icons. For the location pin, click here.
